Paleo enthusiast and intellectual property, patent, and trademark attorney Brent Britton is our interview guest today in Episode 844 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show.”
Most of the interview guests we invite on to the podcast have something to contribute in the realm of diet, fitness and health. But today we wanted to shift gears slightly by inviting on a Tampa, FL-based lawyer named Brent C.J. Britton who specializes in intellectual property and helping keep start-up companies legal. As a fan of the Paleo diet personally, Brent is committed to helping Paleo bloggers, podcasters and other content producers protect the content they are producing to prevent others from stealing it. He's written a beginner's guide to this topic entitled Ownability: How Intellectual Property Works and shares some of the insights from his book in today's show.
Listen in to hear Jimmy and Brent discuss how people blogging in the Paleo or low-carb community should be careful with the disclaimer they display on their page to avoid legal ramifications, why it's important to incorporate your diet and nutrition business to protect your personal property against potential lawsuits, the recent examples in the Paleo community of legal issues regarding trademarks, and a whole lot more. There's so much invaluable legal information in this podcast that can help you if you blog, podcast, do YouTube videos, or have a social media presence sharing about healthy Paleo or low-carb living!
